FREE Parking in
Three satellite areas in Plymouth that are presently free all day public parking.
1. Parking at Jenny Pond
2. Parking at the top of Russell Street, above the South Russell Street lot.
3. By the Water Treatment Plant, North of the BUS Parking lot.
Downtown
Resident Permit
·
For $50/yr, a person
with no off-street parking available
and residing within the downtown area
will be eligible to purchase a Downtown Resident Permit.
· Permit holders can park all day at no charge in any metered spot on a downtown street or in any downtown parking lot, having either meters or Pay and Display machines. Legally parked vehicles will not be ticketed.
· A resident can apply for a Downtown Resident Permit at the Parking Office by providing his/her valid driver’s license and registration for the vehicle. If the addresses on these are not within the area that is under the jurisdiction of the PDC; then a current utility, telephone or municipal bill must accompany the application as proof of residency. The applicant must also provide verification that no off-street parking is available. You will receive notification regarding your application and permit approval. Once approved, a permit is non-transferable and non-refundable.

If you choose to park in any of the unmetered spaces with posted time
limits, your permit does not apply
and you must abide by the posted time limit or be subject to a parking
violation.

Permit
holders cannot park for free in the Memorial Hall and
Plymouth Resident Permit
·
For $50/yr, a person
residing in the Town of Plymouth can purchase a Plymouth Resident Permit.
· Permit holders may park all day at no charge in any downtown or waterfront parking lot having Pay and Display machines. Permit holders can also park all day at no charge in the metered Russell Street parking lot. Legally parked vehicles will not be ticketed.
· A resident can apply for a Plymouth Resident Permit at the Parking Office by providing his/her valid driver’s license and registration for the vehicle. If the addresses on these are not within the area that is under the jurisdiction of the PDC; then a current utility, telephone or municipal bill must accompany the application as proof of residency. You will receive notification regarding your application and permit approval. Once approved, a permit is non-transferable and non-refundable.

Merchant
Permit
·
For $100/yr, a
downtown or waterfront business owner can purchase a Merchant Permit. There is
no residency requirement by Park Plymouth in order to purchase this permit.
· Permit holders can park all day at no charge in any downtown or waterfront lot having a Pay and Display machine. Permit holders can also park all day at no charge in the 14 spaces located in the Tedeschi parking lot that are designated employer / employee parking. Permit holders also have available parking all day at no charge in the metered lot on Russell Street. Legally parked vehicles will not be ticketed.
· Business owner’s can apply for a Merchant Permit at the Parking Office, by supplying information related to their business and providing his/her valid driver’s license and registration for their vehicle. Merchants will receive notification regarding the application and permit approval. Once approved, a permit is non-transferable and non-refundable.

Employee Permit

For $100/yr, an
employee of a downtown or waterfront establishment can purchase an Employee
Permit. There is no residency requirement by Park Plymouth in order to purchase
this permit.

Permit holders can also park all day at no charge in the 14 spaces, located in the Tedeschi parking lot, that are designated employer / employee parking. Boat Mooring Holder Permit (only 200
permits are available)

For $100/yr, a
non-resident of who has a boat mooring can purchase a permit to park a vehicle
on the waterfront.
·
People with boat mooring
permits can apply for one (1) parking permit per boat mooring.
· Permit holders can park all day at no charge in the Memorial Hall parking lot and in the Water Street parking lot, both served by Pay and Display machines. Legally parked vehicles will not be ticketed.
·
Permit applicants must
first obtain written permission from the Harbor Master to apply for a parking
permit (only 200 permits are issued).
·
Next, apply for a
Mooring Holder permit at the Parking Office by providing your valid driver’s
license and registration for the vehicle. Applicants must also provide a
boat-mooring receipt from the Plymouth Harbor Master. You will be notified when
your application has been approved. Once approved, a permit is non-transferable
and non-refundable.
·
If you choose to park in any of the unmetered spaces with posted time
limits, your permit does not apply
and you must abide by the posted time limit or be subject to a parking
violation.
·
If you
choose to park elsewhere in town or along Water Street, your permit does not
apply and you must pay for parking or be subject to a parking violation.
Commercial Fishermen Permit (only 75 permits are
available)
·
For $50/yr, an active
full-time commercial fisherman, who pays the Town of Plymouth a commercial fee or
dockage fee, can apply for a permit to park a vehicle without a trailer.
·
Commercial fishermen
can apply for one (1) permit per fishing vessel.
· Permit holders can park all day at no charge in the section of the Water Street Pay and Display lot, which lies between Water Street and the Lobster Hut restaurant. Legally parked vehicles will not be ticketed.
·
Permit holders may
also park all day at no charge in the municipal
parking lot near the small boat ramp just north of the Lobster Hut
restaurant.
·
First, a Commercial
fisherman must obtain written permission from the Harbor Master to apply for a
parking permit (only 75 permits are issued).

Next, the applicant
can apply for a Commercial Fisherman permit at the Parking Office by providing a
valid driver’s license and registration for the vehicle. It is also necessary
to submit a fishing license and information regarding your vessel. You will be
notified when your application has been approved. Once approved, a permit is
non-transferable and non-refundable.
